Veteran Owned Built in Fayetteville, NC Since 2007
The Metal Worx Story
What began in a small Hope Mills shop in 2007 has grown into a veteran-owned, full-service metalworking company, now owned and operated by Chad and Lori in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Metal Worx builds pieces that carry meaning, represent service, and stand the test of time.
Where It Began
Metal Worx was founded on the belief that steel could be more than functional—it could tell a story.
In the early days, Lori Bertsch began creating distinctive metal flags from a modest shop in Hope Mills. Each flag was fabricated by hand, and the natural character of the steel ensured that no two pieces looked exactly alike.
The response was immediate. Customers connected with the rugged, patriotic design, word spread, and the Battle Worn Flag became one of the creations that helped define Metal Worx.
The Story Made Headlines
What started as an experiment in steel quickly captured the attention of customers, the community, and the local press.
Forged Over Time
A small shop, practical creativity, and the determination to build something different.
Hand-fabricated steel flags develop the distinctive character that customers recognize today.
Local coverage and customer demand carry Metal Worx creations far beyond the original shop.
Metal Worx delivers custom artwork, awards, signs, architectural metalwork, and full fabrication services.
Where We Are Now
Today, Metal Worx brings design, laser and waterjet services, welding, custom fabrication, finishing, powder coating, assembly, and installation together under one experienced team.

Precision cutting for artwork, components, production parts, signs, panels, and customer-supplied fabrication projects.
Powder coating, finishing, assembly, site preparation, and professional installation complete the build.
How Metal Worx Builds
Every project follows a controlled path through our shop. The exact route may change based on the material, finish, and installation requirements, but the standard remains the same.
We confirm the order, specifications, artwork, measurements, finish requirements, deadline, and delivery or installation needs.
Custom work is translated into production-ready drawings, layouts, cut files, and a practical fabrication plan.
When a proof or final confirmation is required, production begins only after the customer approves the important details.
Material is prepared and components are precision cut using the appropriate laser, waterjet, or shop process.
Parts move through forming, fitting, welding, grinding, test assembly, and any project-specific fabrication stages.
The project is cleaned, prepped, painted, patina finished, powder coated, assembled, and detailed as required.
We inspect the finished work for accuracy, appearance, operation, completeness, and readiness for the customer.
Completed work is carefully prepared for customer pickup, delivery, shipment, or professional installation.
Every detail matters, whether the project is a personal award or a major fabrication.
We build pieces that represent service, achievement, identity, and lasting memories.
Our work is designed, fabricated, finished, and inspected to perform beyond the shop floor.
